LA will be getting it’s fist Covid school based vaccination site that is targeted at LAUSD staff according to L.A. schools Supt. Austin Beutner.
The Roybal Learning Center will be the base of operations and will begin administering this Wednesday. Those eligible will be school district staff age 65 and older and district employees currently working at coronavirus testing and vaccination sites.
The site is the first targeted specifically at LAUSD employees but is unlikely to lead to the swift and wide reopening of schools in the district. The union is firm in their stance of wanting the employees all vaccinated before returning to school. It would take about 25,000 doses to get the district back open.
